Congress to reach out to 3 crore families to collect Covid data

New Delhi, Jun 16 (IANS): The Congress is going to launch a massive outreach program to reach 12 crore persons in a month to collect data about Covid and Sonia Gandhi will write personal condolence messages to those who lost their kin during the pandemic.

In a Statement issued by K.C. Venugopal, General Secretary, Organisation, on Wednesday, the party said, "This outreach program aims to cover approx 3 crore households in 30 days thereby indirectly touching approximately 12 crore people (at an average of 4 members per family). Total expected feet on ground would be 1,51,340 at the peak of the campaign."

The Congress will push 10 workers per block and 10 workers per town area and designate them as "Covid Warriors" to collect data and relay the information thus collected through BCCs/DCCs/PCCs to the AICC Control Room/Data Department, thus covering 7,199 Blocks and 7,935 Towns in 736 Districts of the country.

Each party worker will visit a minimum of 10 to 15 households per day during the period of 30 days, expectedly covering total of not less than 200 households in 30 days. Carrying a questionnaire with questions like - Was anyone from your family infected by Covid-19; Has any family member died due to Covid-19; Their name and age; Was he/she the bread winner of the family; Has anyone in your family lost his/her job due to Covid-19 lockdown; Any support that they may be needing (ration, job, education, financial support) etc?

The teams visiting the families in consultation with PCC will facilitate delivery of government approved medicine kits; will deliver mask/sanitiser; will help in delivery of ration/food for extremely vulnerable families and also help arrange vaccination registration and will coordinate with ambulance service as provided by the INC in affected areas.

"Congress President Sonia Gandhi and respective PCC Presidents will also be writing condolence letters to the next of kin of those who passed away due to the pandemic," the statement said.

The party seeks to reach out to frontline health workers as also those severely affected by the pandemic with a helping hand.

A subsidiary aim is also to gather primary data of Covid affected families, patients and deceased.

The Pradesh Congress Committees in states will be setting up a control room at their respective PCC offices. PCCs and District Congress Committees & City Congress Committees (CCCs) will be appointing minimum one point person as a coordinator per Block or Corporation or Ward (relevant administrative area) to monitor activities in his/her Block for the duration of the campaign.

An information campaign on Covid through leaflets and SMS services will also be run to create awareness amongst people in general as also for Covid affected families for a period of 30 days.

Please do not give any data to any political party, it might be misused later, where were the congress leaders when people died, now they got up, if they were bothered of the well being of the people, why they are not asking the government to take back their government mansions, security, salaries, perks as they are just sitting at home and tweeting. I request congress to ask the government to pass a law canceling pension for MP and MLAs.

2lakh or people lost life for covid, after Modi declared and claimed n Feb 2021, that nation has won war against covid and nation has emerged as world's pharmacy, while congratulating self. It was same even last year, after thali, diya and 21 days mahabharata. Today nation is in its worst kind of pain. The only way forward is course correction from image building to nation building. It seems it is too much to expect, as priorities are central vista kind of luxury projects for simple living. Such monumental blunders haven't swayed die-hard fans, they still believe if it wasn't for BJP, the world would have been a grave yard. So, more blunders to come with pain, with joblosses , poverty and crime. That's guaranteed.

Congress is collecting covid data and Sonia Gandhi is sending personal written condolences to affected family and access thier needs and help them while BJP and Modi are adding salt to the wound by arranging Kumbha Mela, election rallies, protest rallies and violence after poll results, building Central Vista for Modi himself and exporting vaccines and charging free foreign medical aid. BJP is a total failure and mismanaged covid situation. Whatever progress in covid situation is not by govt effort but by sole efforts of frontline health workers, NGOs, charitable and religious organizations and foreign charitable free donations. Modi and his team are only posing for photographs on vaccine labels. Disgusting.

Bhaktonnn..... don't give wrong information when they (Congress representatives) visit you, nor drive them away. It could be that you will be marked as a non-receiver. That will make BJP even more a thief because your count will be less. This situation wouldn't have arisen if the government was transparent in its functioning. Please don't pretend to be a saint - news about bogus numbers of testing in Kumbh Mela is already out. One more of BJP's Covid based scam is in the pipeline.

Sudh (or it should have been Subodh I guess), please give an answer to just one question - Congress scammed, looted and stacked in Swiss Bank. Where is India's money that wasn't looted nor scammed since past 7 years ? Where is it ? You should be having an answer if what Modi accused Congress to have done is correct. If he is wrong, then he and his party too are looting. Please explain me if I'm wrong, how am i wrong.
