Mangaluru, Jun 16: College of Management and Commerce, Srinivas University, city campus, Pandeshwar, Mangaluru in association with ISMASI, Azteca University, Mexico, North America organised Manegma-2021 on Wednesday, June 16, via online mode. This is the 19th annual conference of the College of Management & Commerce of Srinivas University.
'Resilience, Innovation & Reinvention - Coping with Turbulent Times' was the main theme of the conference. The conference was patronized by Dr CA A Raghavendra Rao, chancellor, Srinivas University, Dr A Srinivas Rao, pro-chancellor, Srinivas University, Vijaylakshmi R Rao, director, Vijaylakshmi Group of Institutions and Mitra S Rao, secretary, A Shama Rao Foundation.
The vice-chancellor, Dr P S Aithal presided over the inaugural session and talked on the need to stay updated to cope with the turbulent times brought about as now due to the pandemic and elaborated how countries are borderless now due to the advent of online communications technology which has changed many aspects of our livelihood. Chief guest, Dr Ricardo Saveedra, chief mentor, director and chair of international programs of Azteca University, Mexico, who connected from North America stressed the need for global exposure to the youth of today and congratulated Srinivas University on giving a lot of international exposure to its students which will help them greatly.
Dr P K Paul, research director of Raiganj University, West Bengal facilitated the technical presentation committee as session chair. The keynote speakers were Dr Kenneth Okeafor, alumnus scholar of Azteca University and the chairman of the National Health Insurance Services at Nigeria spoke on the need for and importance of cybersecurity in healthcare. Dr G D Singh, who is the founder chairman of the African Asian Chamber of Commerce & Industry is a global citizen gave a lot of insights into the global business scenario and guides on how to become a successful business professional. Dr Narayan Kayarkatte, research professor, Srinivas University stressed the need for personal development to stay ahead and to stay afloat in today turbulent competitive world. The conference had received 107 papers and was presented in three technical sessions throughout the day. There was a lot of knowledge sharing, learning and more than 380 participants had joined the online conference and participated in it.
Prof Keerthana Raj, dean, College of Management & Commerce welcomed the audience, Prof Amith Menezes, coordinator of the MBA program convened the conference. Dr Sonia Noronha, coordinator of BBA in Port, Shipping Management & Logistics Program delivered the vote of thanks.
The College of Management & Commerce offers various undergraduate, postgraduate programs as BBA, BCom, MBA and MCom. In line with the objective of graduating students who are industry-ready, the college also offers super specialization degrees such as BBA in logistics and supply chain management, BBA in hospital administration, BBA integrated with USA CMS syllabus, BBA with integrated IAS training for aspirant’s keen to appear and clear government job postings including SSC recruitment. Similarly, BCom offers BCom with ACCA, BCom with CA Foundation, BCOM with USA CMA syllabus to name a few. Many students interacted with the international speakers and benefitted from these sessions.
