Kaup: 52-year-old woman ends life, reason unknown

Kaup, Jun 18: Sukanya (52) from Pitrody within Udyavar gram panchayat limits hanged herself from a ceiling fan at her home on Thursday June 17.

She was brought down from the ceiling fan and taken to a private hospital at Udupi for treatment with the help of the neighbours immediately. However, the doctors said she had already breathed her last.

Reasons which would have forced her to take this extreme step could not be ascertained immediately. Kaup police assistant sub-inspector, Dayanand and other staff visited the spot and checked the spot besides making inquiries.

Sukanya has left behind two sons including Chetan Kumar, a member of Udyavar gram panchayat, and a daughter.
