Bengaluru, Jun 19: In the Jarkiholi sex CD case that is going through twists and turns, the affected lady has filed an interim application in the high court.

Advocate for the lady said that the police are likely to close the case, while the government advocate said that investigation is still in progress. The petition filed by the lady seeking to include her as a party to a public interest litigation seeking to entrust the case to Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), came up on Friday before a high court bench presided over by Chief Justice, A S Oka.

Senior Supreme Court advocate, Indira Jaisingh, who appeared on behalf of the lady, requested not to close the case when the same is under the consideration of the high court. Advocate general, Prabhulinga Navdagi, who intervened at this stage, said that the investigation is undertaken as per a letter written by the lady. In the meanwhile, she has questioned the investigation conducted by a single judge bench. Now, in the petition filed in the division bench, she has concealed these facts, he said.

The advocate for the lady said that the lady has questioned the SIT probe and that there is no objection to hear that petition along with the PIL. The advocate general also consented to hear all the petitions together. He confirmed that the SIT investigation is in progress. The advocate for the lady said that the order of the government to form the SIT is illegal as the home minister has ordered for the same. She said arguments for the same will be presented during the next hearing.

The bench then checked the progress report of the investigation filed by the joint police commissioner in closed envelope. It said that the report has said that investigation is progressing. It posted the hearing to June 23.
