Mangaluru, Jun 21: Dakshina Kannada district has some centres of faith and pilgrimage centres which witness lot of visitors every day. Deputy Commissioner (DC) of the district, Dr K V Rajendra, said that even if the district gets some concession as far as lockdown is concerned, there is no proposal before the district administration to open any religious centres soon. He has warned that if any vehicles carrying pilgrims comes to the district, such vehicles will be seized at the district border and first information report would be registered against the concerned.
He noted that false information about puja and other rituals being conducted in certain religious centre now are making the rounds in the social media. He said strict action will be taken against those who send or share such fake messages. He asserted that none of the religious centres have been opened and there is no question of opening them within a short duration from now.
