Udupi, Jun 21: Preparations have been made to organize Covid vaccination mega festival in the district on Monday June 21. The target set for today is 21,000 vaccinations. First and second doses of the vaccination will be administered to corona frontline warriors, beneficiaries of weaker sections, priority groups, health workers and people aged above 45.
The inaugural of the district level covid-19 mega festival will be held at 10.30 am on Monday at the government model higher primary school, Hanumanthanagar here.
150 Covishield doses are available for being administered to the needy between 9.30 am and 4.30 pm at the district hospital at Ajjarkad here (St Cecily School). 100 doses of Covaxin are also available. 550 doses of Covishield has been made available at Janata Gymnasium Doddanagudde.
300 doses of Covishield and 450 doses of Covaxin are available at the urban primary health centre Manipal (Madhava Kripa School) where 450 doses of Covaxin also is being made available. 300 doses of Covishield will be available at the urban primary health centre Udupi (Hanumanthanagar), while 200 doses of Covaxin will be available at the urban primary health centre (Private primary school Adi Udupi). 150 doses of Covishield and 30 doses of Covaxin are available at FPAI Kukkikatte.
350 doses of Covishield vaccine have been provided at the mother and child government (BRS) Hospital. Those undertaking foreign visit before June 25, people who have completed 28 days after obtaining the first dose of Covishield vaccine, can get the vaccination. Second dose of Covishield vaccine 100 doses are available.
People desirous of getting vaccinated can contact the nearest government hospitals, or ASHA workers and confirm the location of the vaccination camp before going to the centre and getting vaccinated. The officials said that Covid vaccinations are not available in the district for the people in the 18 to 44 age group.
