Mangaluru: Tulunada Rakshana Vedike distribution of food, grocery kit to destitute enters 52nd day

Mangaluru, Jun 25: “There are various faces in social work. By supporting people in distress and thereby instilling self-confidence in them is also termed social-centred work,” said Professor Bhaskar Rai Kukkuvalli, former member of Karnataka Janapada, Yakshagana and Karnataka Tulu Sahitya Academy.

Rai was speaking after giving drive to the food distribution near KSRTC bus stand as part of the 52nd day programme of Annadana that is being carried out for Covid affected destitutes in various parts of the city under the leadership of Yogish Shetty Jeppu, founder president of Tulunada Rakshana Vedike.

Speaking on the occasion, Yogish Shetty said, “Under the guidance of TuRaVe (Tulunada Rakshana Vedike) honorary president Dr David Frank Fernandes and special encouragement and help by Francis Rasquinha distribution of food is continuing on the 52nd day. Chicken green masala and idli were distributed to around 600 people. So far in Mangaluru city, 898 ration kits and various units of TuRaVe have distributed 2,500 food kits. In total, around 30,000 food and grocery kits are distributed so far in Mangaluru city.”

Professor Bhaskar Rai Kukkuvalli appreciated the work done by Tulunada Rakshana Vedike and said that they have done a great deed for mankind.
