Mangalore, Sep 3: On Thursday September 2, rain and sunshine followed each other with short intervals at most of the places of Karnataka coast. The skies were clear in the evening, paving way for a grand Vittal Pindi in a festive spirit. However, the coast received good rains on Thursday night.

Manki in Uttara Kannada district recorded the highest rain of five cms, while most other places recorded around two cms. The meteorological department has predicted normal rains in the coastal region during the period up to Saturday morning, with heavy rains at a few places.
