Bengaluru: Marriages can be conducted in halls, hotels, announces state govt

Bengaluru, Jun 25: Karnataka government on Friday, June 25 passed an order to allow the holding of marriages in hotels and halls.

The order by the principal secretary permitted to conduct marriage functions in choultries, hotel, resorts and function halls.

The number of people attending the wedding function is restricted to 40. Appropriate Covid protocol must be followed by the events.

The marriage organizers should seek proper permission from the tahsildars of their respective taluk and from the BBMP commissioner in BBMP limits.

The guests attending marriage functions should avail of passes and only those having it can attend the function. Passes are not transferable.

Marriage organizers and the owner of the facility will be booked if Covid protocol is violated.

Earlier the government had banned conducting marriages in halls. The marriages were strictly conducted in residences with just 40 guests.
