Indore, Surat win the Smart City Award, UP wins state award


New Delhi, Jun 26 (IANS): The Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs on Friday announced the results of the India Smart Cities Competition (ISAC) 2020 in an online program on the sixth anniversary of Smart Cities Mission (SCM), AMRUT and Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Urban. Indore and Surat got the award jointly in the urban category, while Uttar Pradesh won the state award. The three urban missions were announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on June 25, 2015.

According to the results, Madhya Pradesh and Tamil Nadu stood second and third respectively in the state category, while Chandigarh bagged the UT award. Ahmedabad got first, Varanasi second and Ranchi third in Smart Cities Leadership Award. Nine cities including Surat, Indore, Ahmedabad, Pune, Vijayawada, Rajkot, Vadodara, Visakhapatnam, Pimri-Chinchwad got a 4-star rating in Climate-Smart Cities Assessment Framework. The awards were announced by Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri and ministry Secretary Durga Shankar Mishra.

    It is easy for us now. As India is vast country, it is difficult to common man to decide which state is better. Now, if a foreigner asks us, we can say that to know India better, just visit UP. That is the best state of India.

    What is the ranking of MCC ? What is the selection criteria .. The Karnataka govt at Bangalore will not allow Mangalore to get this award(Not that they deserve it) ..Maybe MCC will top honors in corruption index

    It's shows how their mp are... Our uneducated 25 mp... Useless.. How come up wone state award..... Here you clearly get picture of election and Currption.... Modi saying na khavoga na kane dhonga.... But still corrupt things going on his direction........ Our 25 mps still enjoying seat they don't have work only getting salaries,.. Because they don't have currage ask money for development..... Still petulu saying modi doing good governance as he is not release money,. If releasing to karnataka money will eat by cm sons company so for us no tension... Salary and travel allowance we are getting time to time
