Udupi: Two people consuming ganja arrested in different incidents

Udupi, Jun 26: Manjunath, police inspector of CEN police station here, arrested during his rounds on June 25, a drug addict. The suspect identified as Rithik Kumar (18), resident of Uttar Pradesh who was at a public place, near Nittur bus stand, Puttur gram panchayat, appeared to have consumed ganja. He was taken into custody and subjected to medical tests at KMC. The laboratory report received from the forensic department of KMC on June 26 has confirmed that the suspect had indeed consumed ganja. A case under registration No. 35/2021 NDPS section 27(b) is registered in CEN police station in this connection.

In another such incident, Narayana, police sub inspector of CEN police station on a tip off took into custody Jagadeesh Poojary (45), resident of Sagar, Hanehalli, Barkur, Brahmavar taluk from Moodanidambur gram panchayat city bus stand, on June 25. As the suspect appeared to have consumed ganja, he was medically examined at KMC hospital. The report received from the forensic department of the hospital on June 26 confirmed that Jagadeesh Poojary had consumed ganja. A case under registration No. 36/2021 NDPS section 27(b) is registered at the CEN police station in this connection.
