Mangalore: 27 Colleges Confirm Participation in Daijiworld Quiz Contest

Mangalore, Sep 4: The inter-college quiz competition organized by daijiworld.com as part of its decennial celebrations in association with St Agnes College on Sunday September 5 with team registration of 27 colleges is poised to be the biggest such event ever.

The venue for the quiz will be the main auditorium, St Agnes College, Bendore. It is being held as part of a series of events aimed at intellectual and cultural awakening to commemorate Daijiworld’s success as a pioneering media enterprise bridging the region with the substantial expatriate population living far away from home.

The day-long event will begin with an inaugural ceremony at 10.00 am.

There will be a written preliminary round and from this the top six teams will qualify for the finals. The finals, with nine rounds, will begin at 2.00 pm. While the participants are engrossed in the preliminary round, the audience will be kept engaged by students of St Agnes College with variety of entertainment programmes.

The prize distribution ceremony will be held at 3.30 pm. Seemanth Kumar Singh, IPS commissioner of police, Mangalore city will be the chief guest.  Felix Lobo, NRI entrepreneur and Sr Marie Prem D’Souza, principal, St Agnes College will be the guests of honour.

All winners will take home cash prize and trophy each. First prize is Rs 20,000 while second prize is Rs 10,000.  Third prize is Rs 5,000 and all other finalists will receive consolation prizes. All participants will be provided lunch and refreshments.

The event will see active audience participation as they’ll be engaged with volley of questions thrown at them and what more, also take home attractive gifts. The interested can join in the fun for the entry is free and open to all.

The participating teams are requested to report at the venue by 9.00 am along with their college ID cards.
