Udupi, Jul 3: Relating to the murder of social worker Uday Ganiga, at Yedamoge in Kundapur taluk, Association for Protection of Civil Rights Udupi has filed a complaint with the state human rights commission. This was stated by Hussain Kodibengre.

In the complaint, it has been mentioned that the accused who killed Uday Ganiga are having political clout. The commission has been urged to hand over the case to criminal investigation department as otherwise the leaders may meddle with the investigation and derail it.

The petition also mentions that with the murder of Uday Ganiga, who was the only earning member of the family, his wife and two children have become orphaned. Therefore, the commission has been requested to recommend to the government to disburse Rs 50 lac compensation to the family. Hussain said that the complaint has been registered.
