NHAI Chairman repatriated to his parent cadre


New Delhi, Jul 5 (IANS): Senior IAS officer and Chaiirman of the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI), Sukhbir Singh Sandhu, was on Monday repatriated to his parent cadre.

Sandhu, a 1988 batch Uttarakhand cadre IAS officer, was in December last year given extension in his central deputation tenure till July 21 this year. In July last year, the officer was given six months' extension as the Chairman of NHAI till mid-January this year.

Sandhu took charge as NHAI Chairman in October 2019.

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has approved the repatriation of Sandhu to his parent cadre on the request of Uttarakhand government, said an order issued Ministry of Personnel order.
