Bengaluru, July 7: The office of the director-general and inspector general of police here through an order dated July 7 has promoted and transferred the current DySP of Madikeri, BP Dinesh Kumar as deputy police commissioner, crime and traffic Mangaluru with immediate effect till further orders. 

B P Dinesh hails from Coorg and is a postgraduate from Mangalore University. He has served in Moodugere, Byndoor, Mangaluru, Manipal, Lokayukta and the anti-Naxal force after joining the police force.
