Dharamshala, Jul 8: As soon as the lockdown restrictions were lifted, the public used it to capitalize on the moment by stepping out and resuming their usual activities.
Tourism saw a revival as well with Himachal Pradesh seeing an influx of tourists. Famous destinations like Shimla, Manali, Dharamshala, Dalhousie, and Narkanda had their lodges, hotels getting completely booked. However, it was also observed that even after repeated directions by the government, the tourists utterly disregarded safety protocols enforced in the state. Taking cognisance of such a grave situation, a video that recently went viral has a little boy walking on a crowded street scolding people who are walking without a mask.
The video first surfaced on Instagram and later on, Twitter shows a little kid wearing a mask with a plastic stick questioning passersby, “Tumhara mask kaha hai?" (Where is your mask?). Unfortunately, his words fall on deaf ears as none pay attention to the kid.
Scores of netizens expressed their views on the disheartening situation.
The Himachal Pradesh government had announced last month about the easing of Covid-19 restrictions. Shimla hotel and restaurant association president Sanjay Sood told PTI that the withdrawal of the condition of negative RT-PCR report and e-Covid pass to enter the state gave a boost to tourist footfall.
