Bengaluru, Jul 10: In the verbal duel that has erupted between former chief minister, H D Kumaraswamy (HDK) and MP Sumalatha on different issues, the sandalwood has firmly been supporting Sumalatha.
Both Rockline Venkatesh and Doddanna have extended support to Sumalatha, widow of erstwhile superstar, Ambarish. In his first reaction relating to the controversy, Ambarish's son Abhishek, requested the concerned not to play politics relating to the demise of his father as it hurts.
Rockline Venkatesh advised Kumaraswamy to be fully conscious when commenting about Ambarish. On Friday, he asked the former CM to cogitate on what favour he had done to the filmdom and what benefit he had drawn from Ambarish when in power. He said that Kumaraswamy seems to think that there is no one to support Sumalatha.
On the claim of Kumaraswamy that he had helped to take Ambarish's mortal remains to Mandya when his own family was unsure, Abhishek said that what Kumaraswamy said then is recorded by the media.
Sumalatha said on Friday that Kumaraswamy had not given his nod for the construction of a memorial in honour of her husband and that when veteran actors, Doddanna and Shivaram approached him for permission, the then chief minister Kumaraswamy, had tossed the papers away. She said that later, the current chief minister B S Yediyurappa, gave permission for the same.
