Kundapur, Jul 10: “Land is being identified to distribute among families who do not own a site in Byndoor constituency. The beneficiaries will be helped to construct houses through the government scheme. Distributing sites to 22 families belonging to scheduled caste and scheduled tribe at Movadi, Trasi gram panchayat limits is a great achievement,” said Byndoor MLA B M Sukumar Shetty.
He was speaking after distributing title deeds to the beneficiaries of houses at Trasi gram panchayat on Friday under the aegis of district panchayat Udupi, Kundapur taluk panchayat and Trasi gram panchayat.
“About Rs 500 crore worth project to supply drinking water to every house in the constituency is approved by the cabinet and the finance department. Tender process for the works will be conducted by this month end. The gram panchayat should cooperate with the centre’s project of providing electricity to every house,” he said.
“Everybody should get themselves vaccinated against coronavirus in order to make the gram corona free. Those above 45 years should compulsorily get vaccinated. The stock of vaccines will be provided if informed about the scarcity. More sites will be distributed among the shelterless soon,” he said.
Trasi gram panchayat president Geeta Devadiga presided over the programme. Gram panchayat members Rensom Pereira, Nagarathan Shettigar, district panchayat former member Shobha G Putran, taluk panchayat former member Narayana K, state project committee member Priyadarshini Devadiga, Vandse Hobali revenue inspector Raghavendra Devadiga, Bhoja Poojary, Priyadarshan and others were present.
Gram panchayat vice president Hema welcomed. PDO Shobha gave an introduction. Accounts assistant Shivananda compered the programme. Gram panchayat member Mithun Devadiga thanked.
