Mumbai, Sep 10: Bhakti sangeet, devotional singing and haldi kumkum programme were organized by the Pooja Samiti Mahila members of the Sri Durga Parameshwari Yakshagana Mandali at Sakinaka, recently.
Tulu-kannadiga women in hundreds from the local area and the surrounding regions enthusiastically participated in the event. Devotional songs were rendered by Vandana Nityaprakash Shetty, Bhavyashree Shetty, Jayalakshmi Devadiga and Shanta before the Haldi-Kumkum programme. Nityaprakash N Shetty accompnied the singers on maddale.
The programme was attended by the chief priest of the temple, Kamalakshya Moily, Pooja Samiti president Mohan Gujaran, secretary Balchandra Shetty, treasurer-Suresh Marla, vice-president Roopa R Shetty, joint secretary Hema L. Kotian and joint treasurer Prasad Shetty were present.
