Mangaluru, Jul 14: A married lady, Pushpa (40), residing near Puchchadi in Soorinje village, Surathkal, went missing from her home from Monday July 12 afternoon. A search for her culminated in the recovery of her footwear on the banks of Shibarur rivulet flowing near her home.
It is learnt that Pushpa was suffering from ill health and mental depression. It is suspected that because of these nagging problems she would have ended her life by jumping into the rivulet. The fire brigade personnel searched for her body in Puchchady rivulet but because of floods, search operation has become difficult. Sensing the possibility of the body having been dragged away due to the force of the flood, the search is being conducted near Panja now.
The husband of Pushpa is employed in Mumbai. He had visited his hometown recently. The lady is survived by two sons, one of whom is employed in Goa and the other, a student of a private college.
