'Sharad Pawar right face to take on PM Modi in 2024 polls' - Sanjay Raut

Mumbai, Jul 14: Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut said that Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar is the right candidate against PM Modi in the Lok Sabha poll, asserting that the Opposition has a slim chance of winning the 2024 General elections until it has a face.

"Without a strong face of the Opposition, it will be difficult to defeat Modi in 2024. The Opposition currently has no face to battle against PM Modi. All opposition parties should try and find a face to fight the election," Sanjay Raut said.

Since Pawar is a senior leader, the Sena MP added that he could be the face of the opposition in the 2024 polls. This is not the first time that Sanjay Raut has nominated Sharad Pawar as the face of a united Opposition.

"A leader like Sharad Pawar should be made the chief of the UPA if you want to strengthen the opposition in the country. His leadership is acceptable to all," Sanjay Raut said.

Notably, the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government in Maharashtra, which was formed after the 2019 Assembly poll, is led by the Shiv Sena, in which the NCP and the Congress are alliance partners.

    I don't agree, we need strong person to run this country. Fed up with old face. Delhi CM only can give good administration and justice to all. Bhaktas also know this but they can't express. Because their agenda is different.

    I don't think that Shared Pawar has a strong face. .. forget about standing against Modiji.....Pawar can't even stand against BJP strong man Amit Shah.

    Body language of a man like Sanjay Raut , who is in active politics for several decades says there is no chance unless Sharad Pawar is made the face. that too slim chance. My only request is not Bang the head against the wall out of frustration.
