Kundapur: Railway passengers’ welfare committee urges to start Bengaluru-Karwar day train

Kundapur, Jul 15: B B Nikkam, the divisional officer of Konkan railway visited the Moodlakatte railway station on Wednesday July 14 and discussed various issues with the office bearers of the railway passengers’ welfare committee.

The committee placed various demands including computerized seat reservation in the taluk, repair work of railway station, the extension of Vistadome tourist train to Karwar, installation of high mast lamps in the railway station, stoppage of Netravati Express in the city and restarting of Bengaluru-Karwar daytime train.

Nikkam instructed the concerned officials to install high mast lamps immediately. With regards to other issues, he assured the committee that he will bring them to the notice of the higher authority.

Committee president Ganesh Puthran, secretary Praveen Kumar, technical advisor Gautam Shetty, treasurer Uday Bhandarkar and honorary president Kenchanur Somashekhar Shetty were present.
