Mangaluru: With increasing cases of theft, police hold MOB parade

Mangaluru, Jul 15: With increase in theft cases under city police commissionerate after the lockdown was lifted, police on Thursday July 15, held MOB parade at various police stations.

As many as 252 people were taken into custody who were earlier involved in vehicle thefts and house and temple break-ins, chain snatching and cattle thefts. They were questioned to find out what do they currently do for their living and other useful details were collected.

“As many as 252 MOB accused were taken into custody and 179 mobile phones and 67 vehicles have been recovered from them. Cases under section 110 CRPC are registered against 120, under section 107 CRPC against 97 and under section 27(B) NDPS against 35 of them. Investigation is in progress,” said police commissioner N Shashi Kumar.
