Mangaluru, Jul 15: Police have released the CCTV footage of the act of accused Abdul Dawood, who harassed and robbed a woman at a unisex salon in the city. He is sent to judicial custody.

It may be recalled that Abdul Dawood from Attavar was arrested two days ago on the charges of molesting, assaulting and robbing Rs 14,000 from a woman at a unisex saloon at Kadri.

The incident had taken place on July 1.

A complaint in this regard was filed by the victim at the women’s police station and case under section 392,307 and 354 was registered by the police.

Hard to describe this visuals, the accused should've shown a little presence of mind he should've avoided physical touch that's not the way to deal any problems with getting into violence especially when females on receiving end, would've dealt with dignity taken help of police or any 3rd person to resolve the dispute amicably, lesson to learn never get into violence not worth it, always be gentle with females sometimes you have to be responsible for actions where nothing is hidden money can be earned buy not reputation it takes ages to built guys please don't get me wrong I am not trying to be judgemental all I am trying to say is for every problem there is soulution we have to control on our emotions. It would seem there was a business dispute between the two and it took this ugly turn on the day. It does not matter if the money was legitimately due to the accused. He had no right to wrestle with the lady in her premises. The CCTV grab clearly shows he used force on her to take away whatever he wanted. In business two parties getting involved should be prepared for disputes which if they arise has to be resolved in a civil manner and not by thuggery. His life was not at risk so he had no justification for his behaviour of getting physical. At best he can reason it was an action in a fit of rage, yet there can be no justification and so now he has to pay for it! As for sections of criminal law... molestation, outraging modesty of woman, assault.. that will tested in trial.

In Canada’s such crimes very very rare and police is not harassing the criminals but treating them with due respects and legal routes . If criminals from ethnic minority then they are treated with compassion and understanding also. If mr Dawood ji is returning at least part of the money then this matter possible to solve amicably instead fascism is being done to him. This would not happen in Canada , even some minority’s who is going to aleppo for combat training are allowed to return and live productive life’s in liberal canadaian society but country like Australia, US and UK are not accepting such people back . Intolerance is really on the rise in India and we must introspect . When I was in Mangaluru things were not like this, feeels bad to see .

salons, parlours are run more as unregistered businesses... gst will be in one name... trade licence will be in some one else's name... property will be somebody else's without agreement... staff will be on oral contracts and no record... all amounts from collections going to some benami account... this lady sitting in cash / manager seat.... there is some financial disagreement between the two... since there is no record of their role in the salon, neither party will give details to police... mostly the manager will be doing fraud / pocketing part of the collections whenever possible... in many business establishments. if the owner is not there, they will say swipe is not working....pay by cash... this is just swallowed...

Woman's safety is main concern in Mangalore, earlier it was VHP goons attacking innocent girls drinking in pubs and creating ruckus , this climate of fear has been generated by Hindutwa government and some people feel brave to use might to steal what is not theirs. Having said that, one must also think why Dawood took such drastic steps, was he a headmaster's son who was forced to molest and steal because of babri masjid demolition or because of how India smashed Pakistan in world cups or more recently balakot strikes. These underlying conditions should be investigated as to why Dawood chose to molest and steal instead of working in a puncture repair shop / mobile recharge conning businesses. Larger societal problems if ignored by fascist government usually result in such cases where innocent people like Dawood get framed.

Assault and robbery is clear in the footage. Even if there was any dispute about the money, he should have gone to the police or tried peaceful method to solve the issue. Intentional touching of a woman without her consent amounts to molestation, the accused should have thought about it before touching her.

From the video, I see lady in the cash counter. I thought the saloon is owned by Dawood and lady was a customer. Is it not true?? If Dawood is owner of the Saloon, why lady is inside the cash counter? Is she trying to steal something from the Saloon and Dawood is trying to get it back?? Or is that lady is the owner of Saloon and Dawood came to saloon to rob the things from there?? I am Not able conclude from this half video. Some one please help me understand.

This is not an assault..... The word assault has a different meaning... He didn't even raise his hand to her to call it an assault.... The matter is not of 14000 Rs, but surely looks like for bigger amount... Whatever the amount she had he might have taken it.... As you said, there would have been a better approach for getting money if one has lend, or given loan etc.... But how??? through police? How much one need to pay to police to get the amount back if any? Through court? How many years one need to spend and how much money one need to spend on lawyers to get the amount back if any? I was reading every ones comments since last few days, and his friends and family were claiming that Abdul Dawood was innocent and he has mother, wife, sister and kid and also a decent business man . After watching this video …. I don't think so he is a family person and a decent business man. Very sad to see the video the goon was standing next to her , man handling her and grabbing the purse. He was literally trying to touch/hugg her body. Thank God her husband must have been reached on time to help her and approached the police to save her wife's life. Also I heard about the saloons owner is a very rich business man, he must have used his power and money to put this goon/ molestrator behind the bar. Police has done a excellent job to save her.
