Kaup, Jul 16: "May the temple dedicated to Lord Siddhivinayaka, who happens to be a great guide of the universe, who inspired Gabriel in the interests of the region and settled down in Shirva grow into a temple that emerges as a model for the entire world," wished senior seer of Udupi Palimar Math, Sri Vidyadheesha Theertha Swamiji.

He was delivering the benedictory address at the consecration programme of Lord Siddhivinayaka temple which has been built by former entrepreneur and ardent devotee of Lord Siddhivinayaka, Gabriel Nazareth, in his own land at Shirva, on Thursday July 15.

Gabriel Nazareth

"Lord Vinayaka has firmly settled down in this land in the form of a stone idol. Let him drive away the problems faced by the world, and create an environment in which people are able to lead a healthy life as long as the sun and moon exist. Gabriel's gesture in building this temple is highly appreciable," he said.

Junior Swamiji of the Mutt, Sri Vidyarajeshwara Theertha Swamiji, was present. Astrologer from Kannarpady Vidwan Sandeep Upadhyaya led Gabriel Nazareth and temple construction in-charge, Nagesh Hegde, in welcoming the Swamiji and offering puja to his feet. Palimaru Math’s renowned Vedic scholar, Girish Upadhyaya, Padubelle Parashuram Bhat and devotees were present.

The temple was planned to be dedicated during the early days of May this year but the plan was postponed because of lockdown. The programme connected with the inauguration are being held from July 14 to 16 duly following Covid norms in a simple way. On Wednesday evening, religious customs like Bimbadhivasa and Vastu Aghora Homa were conducted. On Thursday morning, Tatwa Homa, Shakti Yaga, Peethika Yaga, Bimba Prathishte, night Bhadramandala Puoja etc were held as part of the consecration process. The religious procedures were guided by Kannarpady Sandeep Upadhyaya. On Friday morning, religious programmes, Gana Homa and Brahmakalashotsava are being performed with Maha Ranjapuja at night.

This is a nice welcome moves which preserve the secular fabrics of India. All religions are one as long as we all praise the Lord! So nice to see the catholics youths build a Ganapathi temple in shirva. This area being a bit comparatively poor area, the people’s are simple and uneducated many times. Due to COVID they lost jobs and livelihood also. In these tough times we must not think about caste and religions and financial status but instead thinks about one humanity in the service of nation and Jesus. This temple initiative will help to bridge the divide caused by communal forces. May all the people of shirva benefit from this initiative and unite in the service of the Loud. I may be living away from India in now Toronto but my heart beats for India always May the lord bless all

India has too many places of worship and not enough investment in education, especially primary education and healthcare. The Covid pandemic should have opened the eyes of philanthropists to substandard healthcare in India but apparently has not.

If Muslims think that by burning dead bodies of Hindu Covid patients or Christians building temple will appease Hindutva then they are mistaken. Hindutva hates minorities and want 2nd class citizen status for minorities. Hindutva respects only power. If you have power Hindutva will bow to you and if you dont then Hindutva will make you kneel in front of it.

all donors / devout who wish to build temple should remember how things work out in the future... in due course, the priest family / caste establishes stranglehold on the temple funds/management... so it becomes some kind of "property of the family / caste"... whereas the donor or people who donated for the temple wanted it to be a public institution... it has happened in many cases that the founding family of the temple is in due course eased out of any say in temple matters and the temple gets into the hands of vested interests... many dharmashaalas / chathras built by philanthropist and handed over to temples in due become dharmashaalas / chathraas only for one community.... there are many "public" temples who have students hostels but the hostels are occupied by students of one community, other communities are not allowed...

Lots of temple s already exist at that area. I think there's no need to construct another temple. The fund utilised for construction could be given to some poor people, who need urgent help.

Jossy Tauro, Mangalore Noted your comment. Mr. Gabriel built the temple as per his own wish. As we have 1000 of temples around us. Temple, masjid, chruch premises meant for religious activities but not for playing or any other purposes.

Jeevan and Jossey (Tauro) both of you are taking examples of few bad elements and missing to recognize good in the community. Please remove religion and community from your minds but talk on humanity. Corona and Covid has taught us lessons despite people are unable to understand the value of humanity.

May god bless these good hearted peiple...so much...in abundance...Christians or muslims who work and dedicate their services from the profit they gained through their work...selflessly for other brothers of our communities...either by building temples, or by arranging nuptial ceremonies, or by burying the covid patients without seeing the caste, save from drowning in the river and so on. Jeevan, here one point to be noted and observed carefully is..no one Christian community or muslim community raise onjection, when one of our own try to do some good work in this form. We are all happy for the good gesture of Mr. Nazareth. This is called humanity. "ಬಾಂಧವ್ಯತನ...."...if someone somewhere use derogatory words that hurt our brothern, we condemn, we make them realise what they are doing wrong. We belong to all religions and we love all people of all communities. Hope, some of my friends in this forum agree with me...like Sanjayanna, Shankaranna, RSRB, Kundapura, Sri anna....and you too Jeevan. May almighty bless you and all of us and keep united always...🙏🙏.
