Three Killed as IAF Chopper Crashes in Jharkhand


Ranchi, Sep 11 (IANS): An Indian Air Force (IAF) helicopter crashed in Jharkhand's Godda district Saturday evening killing three people onboard, a police official said.

The helicopter crashed at Prakhani village in Sunderpahari area, about 550 km from here.

Deputy Inspector General of Police (Tumka Range) Vinay Kumar Pandey told IANS that the helicopter crashed due to bad weather and the identities of those killed were not yet confirmed.

"The Chetak helicopter was coming to Singharsi air base (in Pakur district) for maintenance work and is believed to have crashed due to bad weather," Pandey said.
