Karkala: Newly elected block ladies Congress president Anita D’Souza installed

Karkala, Jul 17: The installation of the newly elected block ladies Congress president Anita D’Souza was held at the block Congress office. Former ladies Congress block president Nalinakshi Acharya thanked former MLA Gopala Bhandary, various unit presidents, office bearers and ladies Congress office bearers for having extended support during her term as the president.

Block Congress president Sadashiva Devadiga called on everybody to strengthen the ladies Congress at booth level. District Congress vice-president Sudhaker Kotian explained how women play an important part in the growth of the Congress party. Congress leader Amrath Shenoy congratulated Anitha D’Souza and explained the role played by the women in the party’s unity and respect given to women by the party.

District youth Congress president Deepak Kotian explained how the administrative failure of BJP, the problems of the beedi workers and the price rise can be used for strengthening the Congress party.

Sevadal president Sushan Sudhaker said that the Congress party has given to the country the first lady chief minister Sacheta Kripalani, first governor Sarojini Naidu and first lady prime minister Indira Gandhi. District Congress president and programme president Geeta Vagle wished that Anita D’Souza may make use of the opportunities provided to her for the progress of the party.

Karkala block Congress chief secretary Prabhaker Bangera and George Castelino, KPCC convener Belthangadi in-charge B Krishnamurthy, Kisan committee chief secretary Udaya V Shetty, district congress vice-president Sudhaker Kotian, district ladies Congress vice-president Malini Rai, block Congress minority committee president Mohammed Aslam, Youth Congress secretary Pradeep Belady, district minority committee vice-president Arif Kallotte, state youth Congress former secretary Ravishanker Sherigar, town Congress president Madhuraj Shetty, Youth Congress IT cell president Pavan Kumar, municipal council member Pratima Rehmath, Prabha Vinnibold Mendonca, former councillor Navin Devadiga, Vivekananda Shenoy, former taluk panchayat president Flora Mendonca, IT cell president Sathish Karkala, current and former panchayat members and rural Congress committee presidents were present.

Reena teacher welcomed the gathering. Jayalaxmi teacher rendered the vote of thanks. Shobha Ambaprasad compered the programme.
