Bengaluru: Congress high command summons D K Shivakumar, Siddaramaiah to Delhi

Bengaluru, Jul 18: Congress high command has summoned KPCC president D K Shivakumar and former chief minister Siddaramaiah to Delhi to discuss various issues.

Both the leaders are flying to Delhi on Monday, July 19. They will hold discussions with Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi, K C Venugopal and Randeep Singh Surjewala on Tuesday.

Sources said that the party high command wants to discuss the tiff between the two leaders after a section of MLAs projected Siddaramaiah as the next chief ministerial candidate of the party.

The high command also wants to discuss panchayat elections strategy, list of KPCC office bearers and other issues, sources said.

It is said that this is an important meeting and many vital decisions are expected to come out of it. It is expected the high command will give its consent to the much-awaited list of KPCC office bearers which has already been submitted by D K Shivakumar. High command has got a separate list from Siddaramaiah also. Senior leaders of the state have also conveyed their opinions with the top brasses of the party.

It is learnt that the high command will give a go ahead to the list of office bearers that is agreeable to all.

On Friday July 16, a meeting on upcoming BBMP elections was held at Shivakumar's residence, in which Siddaramaiah also participated in order to convey that the party was still united.

    This high commando is keeping the congrass in unity otherwise it would have been broken up long long ago! From Punjab to Karnataka to Maharashtra, UP, Gujarat there is dissent in the congress and intense infighting for post of runner up or also ran. This is a sign of healthy democracy not a one man show like bjp . Both DKS and Siddu ji are very capable strong grass roots leaders. DKS is keeping congress in unity and managing all resorts related matters whenever there is crisis. Siddu ji was strong and capable CM and always having good leadership whenever needed when he is awake and alert. Congress is a party of high ideals and morals always stood for secularism and tolerance in politics and having clean image. Fake news campaign and communal policies is keeping bjp in power and due to lack of power the congress leaders is getting frustrated and infightings is started. We wish best to high conman of the party to be able to deal with these internal differences in due time and form Govt both in state and centre.     Guys ! Why not someone else? Why isnt chance given to others. Come on. Both these guys are tried tested and not match winners. Lets be fair to ourselves. We have to learn from the opposition. For a moment lets keep political affiliations aside. Look at Shobakka,,Whatever it is. She is now a minister. She started off as a campaigner, then panchayat and coporator , then MP and today she is given a chance to perform as a minister .Look at her growth. Mind you, we have guys and ladies all potential leaders who have joined Congress at the same time when Shobakka joined BJP. To this day they are just sloganeers! shouting their throats off and campaigners to the old multiple times loosing horses . Soon they will retire as campaigners.

    Very good comment. Congress has to seriously introspect. Some potential leaders from minority factions are joining BJP minority morcha . And do not be surprised, they will soon contest.They are at a stage today where it would take donkeys years in Congress . This is sending strong signals to potential minority candidates to join the morcha . So the grass is greener on the other side .
