Indian Chef Becomes Turkey's Brand Ambassador to Malaysia

Klang (Malaysia), Sep 12 (IANS): An ethnic Indian chef and restaurateur has been made Turkey's brand ambassador to Malaysia.

John Anbarasu Suppiah, the director of Let's Travel N Cook, has been selected by Turkish Airlines and Turkey's tourism board to promote the country's culture and cuisine among Malaysians, the Turkish embassy announced here Saturday.

"He will also be promoting Malaysia to the Turkish people," an embassy official was quoted as saying by The Star newspaper.

"The number of Malaysians visiting Turkey is increasing, with 20,000 tourists last year alone," said the official.

Suppiah, whose company is popular for promoting cross-border cuisine and travel, said he would conduct cooking demonstrations in Turkey.

"Malaysian spices and those from Turkey are very different. I will be creating recipes which combine both," he said.
