Mangaluru: Congress veteran Oscar Fernandes hospitalised after suffering a fall

Udupi, Jul 20: Congress leader and member of Rajya Sabha, Oscar Fernandes, has been admitted to hospital.

Sources said that he slipped and suffered a fall during a yoga session on Sunday at his apartment in Attavar. He has been now admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU) at a private hospital in Mangaluru.

Oscar has been suffering from many health issues. He has to attend dialysis session every week.

 

He was diagnosed to have a blood clot due to the fall when he was at the hospital for dialysis.

    The Members of Parliament Local Area Development Division is entrusted with the responsibility of implementation of Members of Parliament Local Area Development Scheme (MPLADS). Under the scheme, each MP has the choice to suggest to the District Collector for works to the tune of Rs.5 Crores per annum to be taken up in his/her constituency. The Rajya Sabha Members of Parliament can recommend works in one or more districts in the State from where he/she has been elected. The Nominated Members of the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha may select any one or more Districts from any one State in the Country for implementation of their choice of work under the scheme. The Ministry has issued the guidelines on MPLADS Scheme including implementation and monitoring of the scheme.     AJ..you are absolutely right. Mr. Oscar cannot be compared with Mr. George. Mr. Oscar could have done lot of things as he was winning from Udupi but he did not do anything. His only achievement is closeness with Gandhi family. But Mr. George is great person. He is far greater than Mr. Oscar.

During 1979, when the Central government fell and State leader, Devaraj Urs rebelled against Late Indira Gandhi, T, A. Pai has contested election with the Devaraj Urs Congress party. But in Jan 1980, when the election results declared, Congress won absolutely majority at national level . In Udupi Constituency, Oscar won under Congress party.

    Normal person they will retire when they reach 60 years of age..... Politicians will start their work only after 60 . You can see everything is done by our young Devegowda, Yeddy, Shard power, Lalu.... See our political leaders hair...... they will make it black or keep one black wig and show the public that they are still 80 years young.
