Mangaluru: Nitte launches BA (Honours) in Media & Communication as per NEP

Mangaluru, Jul 22: Nitte Institute of Communication (NICO), a constituent college of Nitte (Deemed to be University) is offering a four-year BA (Honours) programme in Media & Communication, from the academic year 2021-22.

Nitte (Deemed to be University) is the first in Dakshina Kannada district to offer this programme which is in line with the requirements of the National Education Policy (NEP).

A healthy blend of theory and practice, the curriculum of the BA (Honours) programme is in keeping with industry requirements and includes subjects like Animation, Social Media Marketing, Short Filmmaking, Photography, Introduction to VFX, Peace Journalism, Data Journalism, Advertising and Event Management among several others.

Divided into eight semesters, the programme also offers value-added courses in the third and sixth semesters and electives in the seventh and eighth semesters. The curriculum is designed in such a way that on completion of six semesters of the BA (Honours) programme and having met specified requirements including minimum CGPA, the student can exit with a BA in Media & Communication.

Established in 2012, for the past nine years, NICO has been offering BA and MA in Mass Communication & Journalism. A media college that organises the Nitte International Film Festival every year, NICO regularly conducts workshops on a variety of subjects and has some of the best names from the industry coming to the institute and interacting with the students.

    Indeed very happy to note that our NITTE Institue has instituted BA (Honours) in Media and Communication - a 4 year course for the benefit of the persons who are really interested for further their advancement in Media Oriented Studies for their own future.
