Mangalore, Sep 16: The twin-districts, particularly Dakshina Kannada, continue to grapple with heavy, intermittent rains. The city in particular, received lot of rains on Wednesday September 15.

Almost the entire coast registered an average of eight cms of rain on Wednesday, but the intensity of rain was lesser in northern parts of the coast. The meteorological department has predicted good rains in the coast with well spread out rainfall in hinterlands. Ganeshotsav programmes and immersion processions were affected because of the continued rainfall.

In places like Subrahmanya, Puttur etc., artificial floods created problems because of poor drainage. Rivers Kumaradhara and Netravati are in full bloom.
