On Monday July 26, judge of the district and sessions court here, Raveendra M Joshi, quashed the bail petition.
Dhanush happens to be the main accused in the murder. He is the son of Pranesh Yadiyal, president of Yadamoge gram panchayat. He is said to be accused No. 6 in the case.
Among the other accused, Balachandra Bhat had filed bail petition in the sessions court buy the judge had rejected the bail on Friday.
As per a case filed, Pranesh Yadiyal and his associates have been accused of murdering social activist, Uday Ganiga on the night of June 5. Public prosecutor Prakashchandra Shetty, had argued that if bail is granted at this stage when investigation is still in progress, granting of bail might prove counterproductive as he might try to destroy evidence. He therefore strongly argued against granting anticipatory bail.
