Moodbidri: Municipality decides to impose fine on people littering in public places

Moodbidri, Jul 27: The municipality here, which has been giving high importance to cleanliness, has decided to recover fine from people who throw garbage in public places. The decision was taken at the monthly session of the municipality held on Monday July 26 under the presidentship of Prasad Kumar.

When discussions were on about the disposal of solid waste, some members raised the issue of certain people dirtying the public places. Some also said that a number of people keep throwing waste from above the Puchchamogaru bridge and this dirt gets accumulated near the water reservoir.

The chief officer said that a tender has been called for fixing CCTV cameras in 23 public places and fines have already been recovered from a few people. He said that boards will be displayed on both sides of the Puchchamogaru bridge.

Vice president Sujata, standing committee chairman Nagaraj Poojary, and officials were present.
