New Delhi, Jul 27: Union minister of State for Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare Shobha Karandlaje informed that the Narendra Modi-led government has released Rs 629.03 crore to Karnataka and Rs 701 crore to the Maharashtra government under State Disaster Management Relief Fund for the crop destruction following heavy rainfall in the year 2020 in both the states.
The government has allocated Rs 113.69 crore to Rajasthan due to crop loss due to lack of rainfall in the year 2020 through State Disaster Management Relief Fund. In the year 2020-21, as much as 67.96 lac hectare agriculture land in Maharashtra is covered under insurance through Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana.
The government has released Rs 750 crore for crop destruction excluding Kharif and Rabi crops. As many as 11.43 lac farmers availed benefit from this.
