Rahul Gandhi to move adjournment motion in LS over snooping scandal

New Delhi, Jul 28 (IANS): Congress MP Rahul Gandhi will move adjournment motion in the Lok Sabha on Pegasus issue demanding probe in the alleged snooping row while in Rajya Sabha, suspension notices have been served on the issues of Pegasus scandal and Assam-Mizoram discord.

Several other opposition MPs have also given adjournment motion in the Lok Sabha on Pegasus scandal.

Ripun Bora of the Congress has moved suspension notice on Assam-Mizoram discord in the Rajya Sabha.

The opposition leaders on Wednesday met in chambers of Rajya Sabha LoP Mallikarjun Kharge where Rahul Gandhi was also present. They decided that the opposition parties will press the government to order probe in the snooping row.

The opposition parties led by the Congress did not allow the house to function on Tuesday. Deputy leader of Congress in the Upper Hous,e Anand Sharma said, "One thing is very clear, the blame of the deadlock in Parliament lies squarely at the door of the Government. Government is not interested in a meaningful discussion and debate. This Government does not believe in its accountability to the people of India through the Parliament."

"Opposition is being blacked out inside the house, so through the media, we want to tell our people, we shall continue this fight. The government is obdurate as it is, we will force them, as in a democratic set up it is done, to come and debate, if government has nothing to hide, let them start the debate today itself, the opposition is ready." he said.

This government does not believe in accountability to the people of India through Parliament. "Parliament is not convened only for the legislative agenda of government but it is meant to raise issues of national importance. Government is misleading the country by saying that they are ready to talk to the Opposition.". countries like France, Israel, Germany and Hungary, have ordered a probe into the Pegasus Spyware issue and strange and surprised the Modi Govt government is not ready for an enquiry over the same Same is the case of Farmers Bills and the demand for a Joint Parlimentary probe for the Rafale scam. Even France has now ordered a probe into the Rafale Deal. High time the Modi Govt follows true Democracy as the people of india will not tolerate Autocracy.

Outdated gimmicks. Stale drama. People would have bought into this drama 30 years back not today. Frankly the Govt faces no threat from the present opposition and have no great reason to fear or monitor them. Opposition today has no credible leadership. Everybody knows the worth of Congress, RaGa, Pawar, Mamta et al.

Jossey Saldanha. Lets be fair . We deserve a strong opposition in the center and the state. We have waited now for 7 long years with no respite. Do you think we should still carry on with bashing and lashing for each and every article on the internet and be heros. Come on ! Why cannot we do something constructive. Mind you we are now a laughing stocks and nobody takes the opposition seriously. Its just press conference walas and internet warriors. We need to move forward with a different strategy . Yes, I am a JDS affiliate.

Edwin .Are you serious? Massive protest on the internet? . After provoking others to join then slowly stay indoors like we saw in the CAA protests. All turned tigers the next day on the online forums.

RaGa leading the opposition ,, its hillarious!!!. RaGa is taking the steam out of an already non issue by making his typical absurd statements. EVery one opposing each other for lead or head position but when it comes to MOdi...they all group together. It is like all rats coming together when they hear a MEOW by Modi and they go about pulling each others legs . This will soon go the Rafale way. Nowhere!
