Puducherry, Jul 28 (IANS): The active Covid caseload in the Union Territory of Puducherry dropped to 0.8 per cent on Wednesday, much less than the national average of 1.3 per cent.
As per a statement issued by the Puducherry Health Department, the UT presently has 923 active cases, of which 734 are under home isolation. Puducherry district has the maximum number of active cases at 693, followed by Karaikal (125), Mahe (74) and Yanam (31).
Puducherry has so far reported 1.2 lakh Covid cases, of which 1.17 lakh have recovered from the disease, while 1,792 individuals have succumbed to the virus, the statement said.
The recovery rate of the UT stood at 97.8 oer cent, which is better than the national average 97.4 per cent.
The UT reported one death in the last 24 hours ending 10 a.m. on Wednesday, according to the statement.
