Mangalore, Sep 18: The Kodagu, Dakshina Kannada and Udupi Engineers’ Association observed ‘Engineers Day’ at Bejai Church Hall here on Saturday September 18.
A portrait of Sir M Vishvesvaraya was garlanded on the occasion. A do-it-yourself technical model competition was also held.
Dr N Bhavanishankar Rao, professor, department of civil engineering, Nitte Mahalinga Adyanthaya Memorial Institute of Technology (NMAMIT), was present on the occasion.
Dr Peter Fernandes, professor, department of mechanical engineering, Nitte Mahalinga Adyanthaya Memorial Institute of Technology (NMAMIT), was presented the award of excellence.
Dr R K Yaji, retired professor, NITK Surathkal, was the chief guest of the programme while Lameesha Yadiyal, working president, Kannada and Udupi Engineers’ Association, presided over the function.
