Riyadh: Prince Khalid Al-Faisal congratulates students of Umm Al-Qura university

Riyadh, Aug 3: Students of Umm Al-Qura university who won laurels at the international Geneva conventions fair 2021 were congratulated by Prince Khalid Al-Faisal.

The prince also appreciated the efforts of Dr Mudi Al-Qahtani, president of the university.

The honoured students included Amjad Al-Baqami who invented new features in the guiding stick for the blind under his project ‘Your Stick Guides You.' This unique guiding stick has features like GPS, sensors and headphones.

Prince Khalid had high praises for 'The wonderful glove' project of student Ziad Al-Mateen who developed a glove which converts sign language into audio language. This is very useful for people with hearing disabilities.

Dispensing pain killers under the project “medical self-service” was also appreciated by the prince. Daliya Abu Raya was the student who did this project.

The duo of Khalil Mijaan and Jihad Felimban were honoured by the prince for the ‘Mobile Sunstroke unit’ project, which is essentially a bag which gives emergency medical care in case of sunstroke and overcomes dangerous complications.
