The lady, who hails from Virajpet, was originally a Hindu. Six years ago, when undergoing dental degree course in the city, she got to know the third son of B M Basha and married him after duly converting into Islam. She not only changed her name but also is alleged to have maintained contact regularly with the ISIS through social websites.
NIA has prima facie found that Ammar Abdul Rahman had regular contact with a group belonging to Kerala-based Muhammed Ameen. He and his brother's wife used websites to try to attract young men form Karnataka, Kerala and Kashmir towards ISIS. It is said that on the basis of this information, the lady was questioned.
However, the NIA has not officially announced the arrest of the lady, even though it did so in the case of Ammar Abdul Rahman.
