Mumbai, Sep 21: Canara Welfare Association (CWA) of suburban Andheri (East), here celebrated feast of Nativity of Mary at Sacred Heart church, Mahakali Caves Road, Andheri (East), here on Sunday September 19.
Sacred Heart parish priest Fr Baptist Pais, Fr Richard D’Almeida, Fr Salvador Serrao, Fr Edward D’Mello, Fr Raja Reddy and Fr Cyril Agekar celebrated the festal Holy Mass.
Suzanne Lawrence Coelho, the publisher of ‘Secular Citizen,’ the metro-based English weekly offered motion for stage programme held at Sacred Heart auditorium, here.
CWA office bearers felicitated Fr Baptist Pais, Victor Concesso and Joseph D’Souza during the programme.
Fr Baptist Pais honoured the chief promoter of programme – Richard and Lydwin D’Souza couple.
Fr Salvador Serrao blessed the new paddy-sheaves and freshly-harvested vegetables at the occasion.
The traditional fellowship meal was shared by the community.
CWA president Francis Tony D’Almeida, founder president Pius Fernandes, vice president Glen Rebello, secretary Lenny Fernandes, treasurer Richard Peris, joint secretary Julie Tony D’Almeida, Joseph D’Souza and Lancy D’Silva were also present.
