M'lore: Sahyadri Team Wins Laurels at VTU Level Weight Lifting, Power Lifting Contest

Mangalore, Sep 21: The weight lifting team of Sahyadri College of Engineering and Management emerged runner-up trophy (men’s section) in the 11th Visvesvaraya Technological University Intercollegiate Inter-Zonal weight lifting competition held at BMS Institute of Technology, Bangalore, recently.

At the contest, two new VTU level weight lifting records have been created by Aston Coelho (94 kgs category) in snatch and clean and jerk.

Asif Ahamed (105 kgs Category) won first place, Abhijith Kotegar (62 kgs category) won the second place and in power-lifting Aston Coelho (100 kgs category) won the second place.

Bharat Kumar, Ameen Avneesh, Aakash Bhandary, Prakyath Rai and Akash Kumar are the other participants.
