BJP leader, wife shot dead by terrorists in J&K's Anantnag

Srinagar, Aug 9 (IANS): The Kulgam Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Kisan Morcha President and his wife were shot dead by suspected terrorists in South Kashmir's Anantnag district on Monday, sources said.

According to sources, terrorists barged inside the house of Ghulam Rasool Dar, who was also a 'Sarpanch' (Village Head) and fired indiscriminately critically injuring him and his wife. They were taken to a hospital where they were declared dead.

Police personnel have reached the spot. The area has been cordoned off and a search operation has been launched to nab the terrorists.

BJP J&K Spokesperson Altaf Thakur has strongly condemned the killing of Ghulam Rasool Dar and his wife.

Calling the killings as barbaric and cowardly, Thakur said attacking and killing innocent people will lead to nowhere and the acts reflect the frustration on the part of the terrorists.

Secularism is this country is highlighted only when the topic is of muslims, rest of the time secularism is dead. The rest of the minority religions have very well adjusted with the majority.

The news from BJP is the security situation in J& K is very much better after the abrogation of article 370. But now to kill a leader with such high security to reach the leader and his wife and been shot dead by terrorist is casting a heavy doubt on BJP’s word and worthiness of abrogation of article 370. Matter of fact terrorists attacks have intensified more than before the abrogation of article.

First hold state elections in J&K then congress MLAs and other party leaders will arrive. For now it’s BJP’s sole rule in J&K without state assembly. In spite of that it’s own leaders are killed having its own security and govt without article 370 in force. You are blind Joel not real Joel.

The country has been blind since independence, the reason why Terrorism in JK exist. Congress will come to power in JK but riding on some Kashmir Peoples Democratic Party which will further increase Pakistan's influence in Kashmir.

Question to you is why J&K is insecure now in spite of abrogation of article 370?????……Is there any safety for your own leaders in J&K anymore?????….. Congress and free journalists are barred by BJP from entering J&K since Aug 2019 for fear that they interact with common people and tell the true story what is happening in J&K nor your leader dare to have a open press conference on day today affairs in J&K then what kind of benefit of abrogation of article other than suppressing humiliation and utter failure of abrogation of article by force but back firing on BJP leaders.
