Aug 9: DK reports 273 corona cases; Udupi adds 81, five deaths in twin districts

Mangaluru/Udupi, Aug 9: Dakshina Kannada on Monday, Aug 9 reported 273 new coronavirus cases and three deaths, while Udupi registered 81 new cases and two deaths.

As per the Dakshina Kannada district health bulletin, a total of 13,36,094 samples have been tested so far, out of which 12,32,637 have turned out to be negative.

The total number of positive cases in the district has risen to 1,03,457 out of which 3,321 are currently active.

As many as 273 patients were discharged from hospitals on Monday.

The district recorded three deaths due to coronavirus on Monday. The death toll in the district so far stands at 1,469.

The district administration has urged people to strictly continue maintaining social distance in public places and wear masks when stepping out of the house. Anyone not wearing a mask would be fined by the authority.

So far, the district administration has collected Rs 1,01,29,617 as fine in 83,450 incidents of mask violation.

Udupi

As per the district health bulletin, as many as 8,19,468 samples have been tested so far.

A total of 81 new cases were reported on Monday, taking the total number of cases to 70,945 out of which 1,289 are currently active.

A total of 193 patients were discharged from hospitals on Monday.

Out of 81 new patients, 64 are in home isolation while 17 are in Covid-designated hospitals.

Among the 81 cases, as many as 54 are symptomatic and 27 are asymptomatic.

While Udupi reported 47 new cases, Kundapur registered 11 and Karkala 22 also 1 person was out of the district.

Coronavirus has claimed 428 lives in the district so far, including two on Monday. The persons who died on Monday were from Udupi.

So far, 5,42,914 people have received the first dose of vaccination, while 1,98,182 have received the second dose.

A total of 50 cases of mucormycosis (black fungus) have been reported in the district so far, out of which, 7 are currently active.

    3 rd wave will effect the children. The virus is so smart that first wave it attacked the aged , second wave the young and now it’s searching for children. If you check reality, in Índia 2 lak children die of pneumonia and diarrhoea. The media never has ever shown this. This time they will get this out creating panic and helping pharmaceutical companies to launch experimental drugs causing more deaths.
