Daijiworld Media Network – Puttur (MS)

Puttur, Aug 10: The special crime detective team of Uppinangady police station has arrested two main accused in the house dacoity case of Nooja Tukrappa Shetty that occurred on the night of December 21 last year.

Chandrashekhar Shetty (50), resident of Nellyadi and Dawood Hakim (36), resident of Suratkal Soorinje, are the ones apprehended by the police.

Chandrashekhar was an auto rickshaw driver and used to reside in a rented house at Hosamajalu. He used to deal in real estate also. In addition, he was a distant relative of Tukrappa’s wife. He collected all information about the business of Tukrappa and formed a gang with the help of Dawood Hakim and looted Tukrappa.

Chandrashekhar has deceived his own people. He had met Tukrappa after the dacoity and had also expressed his sadness over the incident saying that such a thing should not have happened to Tukrappa. Though Chandrashekhar was an auto rickshaw driver, he had bought 12 acres of land at Ballamanja and two sites at Nellyadi.

Accused Chandrashekhar estimated that Tukrappa might be having huge amounts of cash with him at home as Tukrappa had sold agricultural land he owned at Shishila. He had informed the same to Basheer, who is already arrested by police and out on bail now. In addition, Chandrashekhar had conveyed complete details of the house of Tukrappa to Basheer, which was conveyed to Dawood Hakim by Basheer and hatched a plot for dacoity.

The gang which was involved in the dacoity had seriously injured Tukrappa wife and robbed her gold. Moodbidri police have already arrested 13 people in this case. Now two more main accused are arrested by Uppinangady police.

The accused are sent to judicial custody.

Alwin, Mangaluru.... 2 points to be noted (1) without a common factor, there is no dacoity (2) the saffron and white religion always ensured the bad person within them is punished severely

Only politicians can enjoy the loot and have a luxurious life. Other petty dacoits have to end up in jail only.
