Udupi: Fr Chetan Lobo selected for late Francis Danti memorial literary award

Udupi, August 10: The book ‘Chetana Chintana’, by Udupi catholic diocese Public relations officer Fr Chetan Lobo is selected for the late Francis Danti memorial literary award. The book was selected for the award for the year 2021 by Catholic Sabha Udupi and the late Francis Danti memorial literary award committee.

Fr Chetan Lobo Capuchin hails from Balehonnur, Chikmagalur and holds a postgraduate degree in media and communication. He has the experience of serving in various sectors. He was the director of Family evolution centre, Shivamogga diocese, secretary of Capuchin education board, Bengaluru, director of Family evolution centre, Udupi, founder editor of Uzwad Konkani newspaper and has shouldered several other responsibilities earlier.

Fr Chetan has been writing since 1990. His articles and stories in Konkani, Kannada and English are published. He has given lectures about media in Mangaluru, Mysuru, Bengaluru, Udupi, Salem, Madurai and other places.

The book that is selected for the award is his fifth book. He has also received BigJ TV award and Ishka Rathnashree award 2017. The current award consists of Rs 25,000 cash and a memento. The award will be presented to him during the annual Catholic Sabha meeting of Udupi.
