Bengaluru: Anand Singh threatens to quit Bommai Cabinet on Aug 15 if portfolio not changed

Daijiworld Media Network – Bengaluru (MS)

Bengaluru, Aug 11: Minister for Ecology, Environment and Tourism Anand Singh, who is irate as he did not get the portfolio which he desired for has given an ultimatum to chief minister (CM) Basavaraj Bommai and threatened to resign if his demand is not met.

Anand Singh had indirectly expressed with his close aides that he was neglected during the cabinet formation. Singh also conveyed his unhappiness to CM Bommai. Rumours are rife among BJP cadres that he has resigned and has given a deadline of August 15 for Bommai to accept his resignation or allocate him the portfolio which he has demanded. However, Anand Singh was not available to the media for his reaction and verification of these rumours. There is no clarification to this effect from the office of the CM also.

It is said that Anand Singh has asked for an energy portfolio. According to his close aides, CM Bommai has asked Anand Singh to have patience as portfolio change cannot be done locally as the same needs to be discussed with top brasses at national level.

Anand Singh met CM Bommai on August 8, along with his wife and explained to him the assurances given by former CM Yediyurappa as well as top brasses of BJP to bring BJP into power in the state.

It is learnt that revenue minister R Ashok and housing minister V Somanna tried to pacify Anand Singh. But Singh expressed his grief by saying that they will not understand his pain as they were not there when he resigned from the post of Congress MLA.

Some MLAs who did not get the positions have gone to Delhi. Once they return, CM Bommai is planning to go to Delhi. MLAs Ramesh Jarkiholi, C P Yogeshwar and Renukacharya are in Delhi at present.

In the midst of this, it is said that more political developments in state BJP after August 13. Ramesh Jarkiholi and C P Yogeshwar will return to Bengaluru on that day. It is learnt that the internal turmoil in BJP will worsen if the issues are not resolved by then.

These type of people find themselves and their parties in the predicament that they are not worthy to govern. This is an epitome of perverse behavior. Instead of striving for name and fame, the politicians should concentrate on serving the people.

Why Anand Singh is waiting till August 15th or Friday as we csn see in Kannada TV channels. He can give today itself. If he is given the Ministry he needs everyone will demand. He is just Blackmailing the Government by threats of Resingning. It will be difficult for Bommai run the Government. Such people should be thrown of the party. .

Utterly disgusting when ministers demand portfolios. This is the prerogative of the CM Half of these guys are not even educated, so with their limited intellect how do you expect them to run a ministry? They are only interested in lining their pockets. Hope they get taught a lesson in the next polls. Now Supreme court has come up with an order to declare criminal cases against MLA / MP Candidates and Govt cannot withdraw cases. Only the High Court can decide. That is the reason they don't want elections.

Tourism Ministry is cherry on top of icing, but am sure Anand Singh is just not aware of it. Tourism Ministers get to roam around the World in almost all Trade fairs that State Govt takes part in, and from last 15 years or so, K'Nataka is emphasizing lot on Tourism Development right from RVD time as Tourism Minister. And there is lot of money making initiatives the Minister can drive and earn. Perhaps Anand Singh has been impacted by pandemic and does not want Tourism Ministry. In that case, he should resign and stay away from cabinet. Bommai should enforce this.

KARNATAKA POLITCAL HISTORY REPEATS ITSELF---- NATAKA as always said by experts ---- Uneasy lies the head that wears the CM’s crown in Karnataka. 30 years ago, when Karnataka Congressmen of all shapes and sizes were trying to oust the then CM Bangarappa, and the then PM-cum-High Command SHRI PV NARASIMHA RAO was asked on his arrival at Bangalore to comment on the infighting, Narasimha Rao promptly replied, “Dissidence is an optical illusion.”------------------------------
