Bengaluru: PU classes to begin from Aug 16, no revaluation of SSLC answer papers

Daijiworld Media Network – Bengaluru (MS)

Bengaluru, Aug 11: PU education board has instructed the education institutions to begin classes for PU students from August 16 itself for the academic year 2021-22.

As all students of SSLC (except on private student) have passed the examination, the admission for PU classes will also be very high. Principals of respective PU colleges are asked to complete the admission process by August 31.

Till August 31, admissions can be done for PU without any late fee. From September 1 to 11 a late fee of Rs 670 has to be collected and there is opportunity to get admitted to PU classes from September 13 to 25 by paying a penalty fee of Rs 2,890.

Online classes are being conducted already for students of second PU for the academic year 2021-22.

Meanwhile, there is no scope for getting the SSLC answer sheets of this year re-evaluated. As the evaluation of the OMR (Optical Mark Recognition) answer sheets was done digitally, demand for re-evaluation will not be entertained.

Some students of SSLC objected that there is no revaluation of answer sheets of this year’s examination. Clarifying the matter, S R Umashankar, chief secretary of the education department said, “This year the evaluation was held digitally. So there is no chance of any errors. So the question of revaluation does not arise. A circular in this regard was sent earlier itself.”

The Board must note that vaccination to 18 and above is not fully done. Local government hospitals are not receiving required number of vaccine. Yes, some institutions have carried out specially arranged vaccination drive but there are many students who didn't belong to existing institutions. Therefore, it's important to make it easy for PU and Degree Collège joining students to receive vaccination if you really intend to prevent the spread of Covid-19 further.
