Bengaluru, Aug 11: Entry to temples has been banned to the general public on Saturdays, Sundays and on General Holidays during the month of Shravana in Bengaluru district.
The Bengaluru District administration has issued the order as part of the measures to contain the spread of COVID-19.
The ban applies for both private temples and those coming under the Endowment Department.
There are restrictions on religious rituals performed during the month at the temples. However, the general public and devotees are allowed to enter the temples following all the rules of the State Government and Central Government to contain the spread of pandemic.
Benglauru Urban Deputy Commissioner J Manjunath has issued the order as per the provisions of COVID-19 Regulations Rules-2020 and Disaster Management Act 2005 on August 11 (Wednesday).
