Daijiworld Media Network – Udupi (JD/HB/DV)

Udupi, Aug 12: Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Thursday August 12 said, “As BR Shetty contacted me over phone, in an understanding, the government has decided to run Mother & Child hospital. Within a week, the government will come to a decision in this regard. The decision will be taken under two phases.”

Speaking at the foundation stone laying ceremony for the 250-bed district government hospital, Bommai further said, “Udupi district will get a government medical college very soon. I will lay the foundation stone for the same. The medical college will be under the PPP model. On the first list of medical colleges in the state, Udupi district will be included.

“After Independence, the governments have not given enough importance towards the health sector. Hence, the Covid situation has become a challenge to the government. The government has provided good health infrastructure during the second wave of Covid. Thus, the government has upgraded over 25,000 beds in government hospitals across the state. We have provided 6,000 additional ventilators in the state. The government has taken decisions to ensure the availability of oxygen concentrators in all taluk hospitals. It is the responsibility of the government to take care of people's health.

Speaking during the occasion minister Dr Sudhakar said, "Mother & Child hospital was set up under PPP model. The private company which was running the hospital had written recently to the government regarding its inefficiency to run the hospital.

Speaking at the foundation stone laying ceremony for the 250-bed district government hospital, Sudhakar said, "We are in the final talks regarding the issue. The government is ready to run the Mother & Child hospital. The government will also take the land which was given for building the multi-speciality hospital opposite to the Mother & Child hospital and it with a purpose.

“The government will provide the same services which were provided by the private administration.

“Rs 50 lac has been sanctioned under the Ayushman Bharath scheme which will be used for the payment of pending salaries of the staff,” he said.

Mr Jeevan, Kudlaa, When out of power all politicians are honest and upright.... You should give them power to know their real COLOURS... I was thinking OSCAR, MOILY, POOJARY, RAI, SORAKE honest and nice people....when they were in out of power... Shocked to see the CHANGES....when they gained Power... Now I know whichever party they belong, whatever their background, however good humans they are....Power Corrupts ...and absolute power corrupts absolutely....NO EXCEPTIONS... PS: I hope this opens Donald D Udupi's eyes... ...Tak...Takk...
